How we use it

Your data is used solely to operate the The 19th platform. We do not sell your data to third parties.

Data sharing

Your name and handicap are visible to other members of societies you belong to. Admins can view all player data within their society.

1. Acceptance

By using The 19th you agree to these terms.

2. Use of the platform

The 19th is for organising golf society events and tracking scores. You agree not to submit fraudulent scores or access another member's account.

3. Scores & handicaps

Players are responsible for accurately entering their own scores. Verified scores may only be amended by a society admin.

4. Payments

Entry fee payments are handled securely. Refund policies are set by each individual society.

5. Limitation of liability

The 19th is provided as-is. We are not liable for any disputes between members, scoring errors, or payment issues beyond our control.

2. What data we collect

We collect the following personal data when you register and use The 19th:

• Full name, email address, phone number
• Gender (used to determine scorecard stroke indexes)
• Golf handicap index and handicap type
• Round scores, Stableford points, and event participation
• Society membership and group data
• Payment status (paid / unpaid) — not card details

3. Legal basis for processing

We process your data under Article 6(1)(b) — processing necessary for the performance of a contract (providing you access to the The 19th platform), and Article 6(1)(f) — legitimate interests in operating a fair, verifiable golf society management system.

4. How we use your data

• To operate your player account and scorecard
• To calculate and manage society handicaps
• To send score verification requests via WhatsApp
• To generate tee time sheets and event reports
• To notify admins of join requests and payments

5. Data sharing

Your name, handicap, and scores are visible to other members of societies you belong to. Society admins can view all player data within their society. We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for marketing purposes. WhatsApp messages are sent via your device and are subject to WhatsApp's own privacy policy.

6. Data retention

Your data is retained for as long as you hold an active account. If you delete your account, your personal data will be permanently removed within 30 days. Historical round data may be retained in anonymised form for statistical purposes.

6. Accessibility

The 19th is built to WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards. All interactive elements are keyboard navigable, screen reader compatible, and meet minimum contrast ratios. If you experience accessibility issues, contact privacy@the19th.ie.

7. Your rights under GDPR

• Right of access — request a copy of all data we hold about you
• Right to rectification — correct inaccurate personal data
• Right to erasure — request deletion of your account and data
• Right to restriction — limit how we process your data

8. Cookies & tracking

The 19th does not use third-party tracking cookies. Local device storage (localStorage) is used solely to remember your scorecard preferences and admin overrides between sessions.

9. International transfers

Your data is stored and processed within the European Economic Area (EEA). No international transfers outside the EEA take place without appropriate safeguards.

10. Complaints
